Untouchable
Have you ever needed a hug only to realize there was no one there to hug you? In our current situation, we are told to distance ourselves from one another – no hand shaking – no hugging – in essence we have become untouchables. During the time of Christ, there was a group of people who were outcasts, considered to be untouchable. They were the lepers – people with a disease so horrible everyone was afraid of them. They were banished to live in leper colonies. Yet one leper, came to Jesus and begged to be healed. The leper said, “If you will you can make me clean.” Jesus put forth His hand touched the leper and said, “I will, be clean.” Jesus TOUCHED THE UNTOUCHABLE. Many today think they have committed such unforgiveable things in their lives that they are untouchable. Jesus can touch you if you let Him.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Mark recorded, “And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.” Mark 1:40 – 42 (KJV)
Today, let Jesus touch you and cleanse you. He is able.
