Trying

Are you experiencing trying times?  I know this sounds counter intuitive; but, rejoice. That’s right I said rejoice.  Now, I know that is not what you feel like doing during the trying times you are currently experiencing; however, James said you are blessed when you endure temptation and are tried; because you will receive a crown of life.  No temptation is pleasant and I have found it hard to rejoice; but, when I do, the stress seems to leave and God steps up to comfort and bring encouragement.

When things were at the worse for my Mom, our pastor came and prayed.  My husband and I were sitting in the lobby and a couple of strangers came and prayed.  About 30 minutes later, the chaplain just happened to stop by and prayed.  All were used by God to encourage us that He was with us and was helping us.  

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, James wrote, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” James 1:12  (KJV)
