Things
With the devastation around the word related to hurricanes and earthquakes, we see buildings, cars, infrastructures and lives destroyed. The most precious of all those things are the lives that have been lost. Yet, things seem to be what is valued the most as the news media projects the cost of rebuilding. Yes those things are important; but, the most basic of needs are food, water and clothing. Jesus said do not be concerned about those things as He knows our needs and He will provide.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Matthew recorded Jesus when He said, “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:31-34 (NKJV)
Today, don’t worry about things – God will provide for our necessities.
