The Rock

Have you ever looked at the rocks of “Stonehenge?” According to historical data, these stones, a seemingly stable structure, have been there for centuries.  Today, when a home is built, usually it is built upon a concrete foundation, which strengthens the structure. Jesus said, a wise person builds his house upon a rock. Now we know the house and rock of which Jesus spoke, was our life being built upon Jesus, the rock of our salvation. He said we would be wise to build upon him. In contrast, Jesus said a foolish man builds upon the sand.  Have you ever seen the way a hurricane destroys a house built upon the beach? So, the question for you is how have you built your life – is it on the Rock of Jesus or on the shifting sand of this world system?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Mark recorded, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24 – 27 (KJV)

Today, be wise and trust Jesus to sustain your life.
