Taxes

We have all heard it said, “Only two things are certain in this life – death and taxes.”
Since, today is traditionally the deadline for paying your taxes, I just thought I would
ask how do you feel about paying taxes?  Paul had some words for us about paying
taxes.  I will admit, I have not always lived up to the spirit of this particular scripture.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities
are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe
them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if
honor, then honor.”  Romans 13:6-7 (NIV)

Today, check your attitude toward taxes.  (By the way, this year taxes are due 4/18.)
