Satisfy with Good (Part 2)
Benefit #5 – Satisfy with Good (Part 2)
In Psalm 103, we are told why God satisfies us with good. It’s so our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Eagles soar on wind currents without flapping their wings; however, at the age of about thirty, his feathers deteriorate and he is unable to fly. So, he secludes himself on a high mountain top, plucks out his talons and feathers completely and breaks his beak. In about five months, regrowth takes place and he can live for another 30-40 years, thus being renewed. Just as the eagle’s youth is renewed with a mountain top experience, we must learn to climb to new heights by trusting the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us into all truth. When we trust the Holy Spirit and are led by the Spirit, we can accomplish God’s will for our lives. Isaiah said, ‘wait upon the Lord so you can run, and not be weary; and walk and not faint.’
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV)
Today, Bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits. Receive His benefit of being satisfied with good so your youth is renewed like the eagles.
