Promises

When you were a child, did you make promises?  Perhaps you make
them now.  Webster defines a promise as “a declaration or assurance
that one will do a particular thing or that a particular thing will happen.”
Have you always fulfilled your promises?  I haven’t.  However, there are
exceeding great and precious promises God has made to us and He will
fulfill them.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Peter wrote, “According as his divine power
hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through
the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are
given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might
be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in
the world through lust.”  2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV)

Today, be confident in God’s promises to you.
