Preserver

When you ride in a boat, do you wear a life preserver? When sky diving, would you want a parachute? Yes, and you would want it to open.  Wouldn’t you want a life preserver to care for you as you walk through this life and the world as we know it?  The Lord is our life preserver.  He watches over us night and day. He never slumbers or sleeps. He is ever vigilant to preserve us forever. How many times has the Lord helped us through difficult times and through situations of which we may not have been aware? How many times have we given Him thanks for His faithfulness to see us through?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)

Today, give thanks for the help our life preserving God has given us.
