Patience

Are you a patient person?  If you are, then my hats off to you.  Patience is an acquired attribute.  It does not come naturally.  I once prayed for patience, then I read where Paul said tribulation works patience.  Well I didn’t want any tribulation so, I gently asked God to forget about that prayer.  The I read where James said the trying of our faith works patience.  Well, I didn’t want that either.  God in His infinite wisdom has allowed tribulation, and trials in my life anyway so that I could learn to be patient.  You see, as we age, patience comes because of life experience that have taught us God is in control and He wants only what is best for us.  I haven’t arrived in the patience department; however, I’m sure God will help me and you to get to that place of comfort, where no matter what comes we will believe it will work out for our good. (Romans 8:28).

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, James records, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”  James 1:2-3 (KJV)

Today, enjoy the process of learning patience – God will help us.
