Morning Thoughts – Stress and Distress
Stress and Distress
Webster defines stress as “a state of mental or emotional strain or tension
resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances” and distress as
“unhappiness or pain : suffering that affects the mind or body.” When
experiencing stress or distress, do you focus on what is distressing you?
All of us have stress and distress in our lives from time to time. It is how
we handle that stress and distress that affects our health. The issue in
stressful and distressful situations is trust? Are you trusting in yourself
or God during these times of stress and distress? The Psalmist had a few
thoughts about stress and distress.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “But I will sing of Your mighty
strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness
in the morning; for You have been to me a defense (a fortress and a high tower)
and a refuge in the day of my distress. Psalm 59:16 AMP
Today, kick back in the arms of Jesus and sing of His mighty strength, power,
mercy and loving kindness and watch your stress and distress vanish.
Be Blessed and Be a Blessing.
Remember God Loves You and I Do Too.
