Morning Thoughts – Love Not

Love Not

What? Am I saying we are not to love? Yes, we are to love not the
things of this world. Now what are the things of this world? When I
think of the things of this world, I think about the temptations Jesus
faced – lust of the flesh, eyes and pride of life. John wrote of some
examples.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote, “Do not love or cherish the
world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world,
love for the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust
of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes
[greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s
own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come
from the Father but are from the world [itself]. 1 John 2:15-16 (AMP)

Today, allow the Holy Spirit to help you to Love Not the World and the
things of the World.
