Cleaning
Today is house cleaning day. Now things are kept picked up so there
is no clutter; but today I do the one thing I don’t like to do and that is
dust. Dusting seems so futile because the dust just keeps coming back.
Yet dusting is so necessary. Our lives are like that, we start out with a
little dust (sin) and before you know it, you could write your name in
the dust. Sin like dust comes on so gradually that we just tend to ignore
it at first and before you know it – sin has taken hold of every aspect of
our lives.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote, “If we [freely] admit that we
have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His
own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our
lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness
[everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and
action]. 1 John 1:9 (AMP)
Today, do a little internal house cleaning. Like cleaning your physical
house, cleaning your spiritual house will make you feel better.
