Love for God (Part 2)
Have you ever experienced anything that knocked the props out from under you and you were powerless to do anything? When you were in that situation, what did you do? Did you try to fix things on your own? How successful were you? In these two short verses, twice the Psalmist affirms that God is his strength. David, the Psalmist knew God was his only hope and strength. He turned to God for strength when his strength failed him.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalm 18:1-2 (KJV)
Today, trust God to be your strength. He is able.
