Louis Jenkins Has Passed

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Louis Jenkins.  I was informed by the church email from Kathy Hoke when I awoke this morning.  I knew Louis from my time with him in conversation on Sunday morning, at pot luck dinners in Fellowship Hall, and other events he came to be a part of at the Church.  Lewis was also my prayer partner.  Although I did not know Lewis outside the church there is no doubt that he affected my life.  When I was down or having some difficulty he was always encouraging.  In fact he always had a positive word for me, and I feel blessed for knowing him even just a little.  You will be missed, Lewis, because I know you touched many more lives with your kindness and encouragement than just mine, and I am a poorer man for not taken more time to get to know you a little better.

Please say a prayer for his wife Audrey and the family as they mourn our loss.  As Kathy said, “He was surrounded by the love of his family at the time of his passing. We pray for comfort for the family as they make arrangements. They are comforted in know where Louis is now and no longer suffering.

May the God we all love and serve comfort us all.”
