I heard a story about two elderly missionaries, who were returning from decades of service on the mission fields. When they arrived at the port, there was a band and people shouting. They were surprised; however, they discovered the band and large crowd was there to welcome a celebrity and not them. In the end, there was no one to greet them. The wife became a little sad; but, her husband said, “Don’t be sad, we’re not home yet.”
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Hebrews records, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” Hebrews 6:10 (NIV)
Today, don’t grow weary in service to the Lord. Your welcome home will be fantastic.
