Instructions (Part 5)
Paul tells us to “Quench not the Spirit.” Why is the Holy Spirit important and why are we not to quench the Holy Spirit? When Jesus was here on the earth, He said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; . . .But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:16, 26 KJV) Just think, we have a teacher who leads us and guides us and most importantly, who comforts us. When you are feeling low or are in need of comfort, God’s Holy Spirit is there – lean on Him.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit Paul wrote, “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:14-18 (KJV)
Today, may you find joy in your journey and peace in your spirit through close communion with our God. Lean on His Holy Spirit.
