Instructions (Part 3)
Attitude most likely will accompany actions. When we treat others as Christ intended and always be joyful, then we take action by always praying. What does that mean “always praying?” It does not mean we are to live like monks in a monastery. It means we are to be in an attitude of prayer. For instance a person with an intermittent cough will cough when he needs to clear his airways. We are to go through our days always praying as the Lord leads us to pray. It does not have to be an audible prayer; because God knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts. As an example, when you see a person who has just had an accident, or hear an ambulance siren, you may be prompted to pray for the situation and the people involved. Prayer is an action built on our attitude of surrendering our will to hear God speak to us and lead us.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “Dear brothers, warn those who are lazy, comfort those who are frightened, take tender care of those who are weak, and be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to everyone else. Always be joyful. Always keep on praying.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14-17 (TLB)
Today, may you find joy in your journey and peace in your spirit through close communion with our God.
