In the movie, The Mission, Robert DeNiro plays the part of a repentant mercenary and slaver. He accompanies the Jesuits on their return journey, dragging a heavy bundle containing his armor and sword. His journey is hard because of the burden he carries. The natives embrace this repentant man and cut away his heavy burden. Many today are carrying the burden of unconfessed sin.  The enemy of your soul would like nothing better than for you to remain burdened by sin. Jesus came to set you free from your sins and give you peace and joy.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the John recorded, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 (KJV) and “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36 (KJV)

Today, turn to Jesus and experience His freedom. Then give Him praise. He will be found by all who search for Him.  If you have never received Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins and you will receive His new life.
