Finishing

Woodworkers are very particular about how a project looks when it is finished.
The project must be perfectly smooth and sanded to a fine finish with every rough
edge sanded and velvety smooth touch.  In other words, there should be nothing
unfinished.  When Jesus was on the cross, He said, “It is finished.”  The writer of
Hebrews said, we look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.  That means
everything that could be done has been done for you and me.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the author of Hebrews wrote, “looking unto Jesus, the
author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured
the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of
God.  Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV)

Today, celebrate the finishing of our faith.
