Discipline
Discipline
Did you ever hear your parents say, “This hurts me more than it hurts you?” I heard it and even said it. Discipline is necessary for training and teaching – setting boundaries if you will. Just as our dads and moms disciplined us, so our Heavenly Father disciplines us. His discipline is always for our growth. The end result is a change in character and to grow in His righteousness.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Hebrews records, “Our earthly fathers trained us for a few brief years, doing the best for us that they knew how, but God’s correction is always right and for our best good, that we may share his holiness. Being punished isn’t enjoyable while it is happening—it hurts! But afterwards we can see the result, a quiet growth in grace and character.
Today if you are being disciplined, just know this discipline did not come to stay; but, is necessary for your growth.
