Deeper Understanding

Most folks like to understand the why and how of things.  Do you understand why God called you to be His child? Do you understand how much God loves you? Do you get upset when seeming bad things happen to you? These are just a few of the things that many question and do not fully understand.  First God called you to be His child because of His great Love for you.  Second, that love is unconditional – meaning there is nothing you can do to stop or lose His love. When things happen that we perceive are bad, that is the time to press in and get close to God for His comfort, love and guidance. When Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians, he prayed that our Lord would bring us into a deeper understanding of God’s Love and the patience that comes from Christ. To have this deeper understanding, we need to get to know God better through the study of His word.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “May the Lord bring you into an ever deeper understanding of the love of God and of the patience that comes from Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (KJV)  

Today, spend time getting a deeper understanding of God’s love for you and then share it with someone who is in need.  If you have never received Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life, ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins and you will receive His new life.
