Benefits

When you see an apple, peach, orange or pear tree, you hope to find the benefit of fruit that is sweet and juicy.  As a Christian, we have benefits, which come from the indwelling of God`s Holy Spirit.  Those benefits are the fruit of the Spirit.  This fruit doesn’t necessarily occur automatically. Just like the fruit of various trees, where the type of fruit you get depends upon what is planted, fed, and watered.  Likewise, for the fruit of God`s Spirit to become evident, we must also be planted in Jesus and fed, and watered by His Word. This occurs in our lives through personal reading of God`s word and through corporate learning in Sunday School and Church.  How is that going for you?

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)

Today, let God`s word develop the fruit of His Spirit in you.
