Benefit #4 Crowned with Love and Mercy
Benefit #4 – Crowned with Love and Mercy (Part 3)
A crown represents “a symbol of authority.” The Psalmist said, as one of our benefits, the Lord “crowns us with Steadfast Love and Mercy.” Psalm 136 repeats at the end of each of the 26 verses “for his mercy endureth for ever.” Think about that for a moment. His Steadfast Love is unending and His Mercy endures forever. “Grace is when God gives us what we don’t deserve. Mercy is when God doesn’t give us what we do deserve. (Author unknown)” We have been given a crown of Love and Mercy and with that crown comes the authority Jesus gave to His disciples. Revelation 1:4-6 “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” Rejoice in the Steadfast Love and Mercy of God, which He freely gives as one of our benefits.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV)
Today, Bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits. Receive His benefit of Steadfast Love and Mercy.
