Benefit #3 – Redemption
Benefit #3 – Redeems your life from destruction
In the Hebrew, the word “redeems” is an act by a near kinsman to buy back. In the story of Ruth, Boaz, as a near kinsman to Naomi, redeemed the family property that was lost, when Elimelech, Mahlon and Chilion died. “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Romans 8:16-17) Jesus paid the price for our life to be bought back from the pit of destruction. Jesus as our redeemer, purchased our lives and restored us to a right relationship with God, whereby we became the children of God. As a believer in Christ, you can rejoice that you are redeemed from destruction.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV)
Today, Bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits. Receive His benefit of redemption from destruction.
