Benefit #2 – Healing (Part 4)
Benefit #2 – Healing (Part 4)
Part 1 – God does NOT lie and He is our healer.
Part 2 – Jesus did only what pleased the Father
Part 3 – Jesus provided healing in His body on the cross.
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life.” (John 6:48) In the Greek, Bread in this context of life indicates Jesus is the food of our physical and spiritual existence. Before Jesus went to the Cross, at the Last Supper, Jesus “. . . took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19) The bread represented His body that was broken, bruised, battered, and beaten for our healing. “In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” (1Corinthians 11:25) The cup represented His blood that was shed for our sins. When we think of being saved, we think of salvation from our sins and eternal life in heaven. In the Greek language, the word “saved” has a much fuller meaning. It means to deliver, protect, heal, preserve, do well, be (make) whole. Salvation then encompasses our whole being physical, emotional and spiritual.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV)
Today, Bless the Lord and forget not all His benefits. Receive His benefit of healing of all your diseases. Let God be true. . .
