A Daily Choice
I spent this past weekend in Idaho being a groomsman in a wedding of two great friends. It was a joyous time spent with friends and celebrating two people coming together as one.
During the ceremony, the pastor, a good friend of mine, talked about how that day did not make a marriage. It was the coming days, weeks, months and years that made a marriage. That ceremony was something to celebrate but it would take work and sacrifice to stay together.
The same is true when we give our lives to Christ. Think back to when you gave your life to Christ. Whether that was years ago or last week, it certainly is and was something to celebrate. Some people in your life were likely very happy about that. But it doesn’t stop there. It is a daily choice. Sin tempts us daily and we have to choose to follow after Christ. Yes, we fail, but we must not let that discourage us to stop the journey. Each day we must continue to strive after Jesus.
