A Call to Prayer
A Call to Prayer
Have you been called by a friend to do something for them? Have you done those favors for your friend? There is a gentleman in our church who never fails to pray for our military and our government officials “to do what is right for America.” He is fulfilling what we have all been called to do. Before Jesus was crucified, He prayed not only for His disciples; but also for all of mankind when he said, “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (John 17:20-21 NAS) Our example to pray for all men is Christ. Paul also encouraged us to do so. What would our world look like if we just simply did what we have been called to do?
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “[A Call to Prayer] First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NAS)
Today, fulfill your call and pray for all men including our leaders.
