Instructions (Part 1)
Instructions
In our everyday life we see greed, strife, and evil toward others. Law breakers of every sort abound; however, that was not how we have been encouraged to live. It is for our best interest that we are to live according to the instruction of God’s word. In Paul’s instructions to the church in Thessalonica, he first told the members how they were to behave toward others and then how they themselves were to live.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote, “Dear brothers, warn those who are lazy, comfort those who are frightened, take tender care of those who are weak, and be patient with everyone. See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to everyone else.” 1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 (TLB)
Today, be aware of how you treat others – warning, comforting, taking care and being patient. Don’t pay back evil for evil but always try to do good to each other (members in the family of God) and to everyone else.
