Abiding
On Saturday, January 13, 2018, the people of Hawaii were notified of an apparent missile threat to them. At the time, they did not know it was not real. Can you imagine the thoughts that went through people’s minds? What would you do if it had been you with possibly 20 minutes to live? That question is a reality for all of us each day. None of us has the promise of tomorrow or the next minute. What matters is, where will you spend eternity. There are only two options – Heaven or Hell. When we abide in Jesus, our lives have been secured for an eternity in heaven. If we do not abide in Jesus, likewise, your life has been secured for an eternity in hell.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John wrote, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” John 15:4 (KJV)
Today, examine yourself to determine if you are abiding in Jesus.
