Benefit #4 – Steadfast Love (Part 2)
Benefit #4 – Steadfast Love (Part 2)
As stated previously, the English Standard Version Psalm 103:4b uses “steadfast love.” In other translations of Psalm 103:4b instead of “steadfast love,” the term “lovingkindness” is used. Lovingkindness is derived from chacadh, meaning, “to bend or bow oneself,” “to incline oneself;” Jesus came down from Heaven and demonstrated His love for us as the one and only Son of God. 1 John 4:10 – 12 “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.” Rejoice that God crowns you with STEADFAST LOVE.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV)
