Benefit #2 – Healing (Part 7a)

Part 2 – Jesus did only what pleased the Father

Part 3 – Jesus provided healing in His body on the cross.

Part 4 – Salvation encompasses our whole being – physical, emotional and spiritual 

Part 5 – Jesus finished the work to redeem us to our right standing with God.

Part 6 – Jesus taught His disciples and others to preach the Gospel and heal the sick.  (Are you a disciple)

I recently asked my husband did he believe healing was for today?  He said, “I pray for people to get healed; but they don’t get healed.”  People don’t get healed therefore, we give lip service to our prayers for their healing without real belief in God’s willingness to heal them.  (It is a cycle that Jesus wants to interrupt.)  In the model prayer referred to as the Lord’s prayer says, “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”  (Matthew 6:9b-13) In that model prayer, Jesus referred to God’s Kingdom and His will being done in earth as it is in heaven.  Is there sickness, disease, or sin in heaven?  NO there is no sickness, disease or sin in heaven.  Jesus redeemed us from the curse of Adam’s sin.  God wants His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Psalmist wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:  Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.  Psalm 103:1-5   (KJV)
